Day 17 - 23/04/2018 - Hanoi
I made the mistake of saying we had a free day today. Isaac took that to be a day off site seeing to do nothing. What I actually meant was there were no booked tours for today and instead they would be following me around to see the sites of Hanoi. We did however take our time this morning without the need to rush out the door too early. We eventually set off around 10am for a walk around Hanoi.
We have spotted a few of these, a barber on the side of the road with a mirror up against the tree, he did offer us a haircut as we walked past, none of us chose to partake.
Hanoi Opera House
Malayah was excited to find Pandora, unfortunately they had sold out of the Vietnamese themed charms
No matter where you go in the world there always seems to be one of these....
Around Hoan Kiem Lake
Ngoc Son Temple
A swim in the hotels rooftop pool
We then went for afternoon tea at the Metropole Hotel, a very beautiful and one of the most well known and expensive hotels in Hanoi
The kids enjoyed the dessert/chocolate buffet
We then headed back to the Hanoi Opera House to see a cultural show. The show was amazing.
The ticket sections we named 'Yay', 'Aah', Ooh' and 'Wow', we had tickets in the 'Ooh' section, we were four rows back from the stage.
We then had Bun Cha at the place Obama ate at with Anthony Bourdain, the food was really good. They had photos of Obama on everything, even the wet wipes packet mentioned that he had been here. Our entire meal including drinks cost $13.50
The actual table, stools and utensils used by Obama and Anthony Bourdain encased.
