Day 11 - 17/04/2018 - Hoi An, Old town and Night Food Tour

This morning we decided to go back for a walk through the old town.

Outside our hotel waiting for the shuttle bus.

Japanese covered bridge

Time for a break from walking for a Vietnamese coffee and Coconut juice

After more walking around it was time for a foot massage. It was painful at times but felt good afterwards.

Lunch, Banh Mi. Anthony Bordein had visited this place, it was very busy, the cost for 4 rolls and 3 cans of coke was about $8

A cotton tree

Time for our night food tour, we caught a taxi to our first location, Isaac sat in the back and his head was touching the roof of the car.

White Rose Dumplings, these dumplings are famous in Hoi An and this is the original place of these dumplings. These ladies sit here all day making dumplings, they make about 6000 dumplings per day.

We then got to have a go at making them ourselves. The ladies make it look so easy and do it so fast

They then cooked the ones we had made for us to eat

Next stop a 200 year old house. The house was beautiful, Binh the owner was very friendly. We were served lotus leaf tea, mung bean biscuits and home made frozen yoghurt, all were delicious.

This old chest is built with wooden wheels which can be used to move it and still work. In the middle is an old oil lamp used in the days before electricity.

Cau Lau noodles sitting on tiny little plastic chairs.

Something sweet, it was a mix of many different things, dragonfruit, jackfruit, avocado, dates, toasted coconut, papaya and condensed milk which you mix together with ice, surprisingly it tasted pretty good.

This was the final food stop, grilled pork skewers and Vietnamese pancakes that you wrapped in rice paper. We were so full but we had actually skipped two of the usual food stops as we knew there was no way we could fit it all in.

Last stop was a roof top for coffee. It was beautiful and peaceful up here. Our guide Trung was fantastic, we had a great night.
